Purpose Using an intersectional lens, this article explores the disproportionate effect of health-related crises on vulnerable groups, specifically focusing migrant women entrepreneurs and exacerbated by ingrained societal biases related to gender, ethnicity class. Design/methodology/approach Employing inductive, phenomenological approach, we conducted face-to-face interviews with affected COVID-19 pandemic. Supplementing our findings, analysed documents such as UK policy briefings government task force meeting reports. Findings Our research uncovered a substantial decline in customer base entrepreneurs, which was attributed perceived susceptibility virus. Balancing business responsibilities childcare resulted significant time commitment, influencing mood, well-being, family welfare financial stability. Through highlight that issue intersectionality extends beyond sociocultural factors encompass disruptive events like crises. To mitigate adverse effects, advocate for undertake crucial entrepreneurial actions, embrace orientations, utilise available support systems cultivate essential soft skills. Originality/value Emphasising holistic underscores necessity addressing multifaceted challenges faced during health crises, contributing significantly broader understanding dimensions.

Introduction This study investigates how social capital, family support, culture, entrepreneurial qualities, and self-efficacy influence women’s work-life balance success in Indonesia. This investigation looks at the influence of crowdsourcing on viability female owned firms in East Africa, with a special emphasis mediating function alternative means finance. We investigate how entrepreneurs communicate with crowdfunding backers during the onset of a societal crisis via content analysis campaigns active COVID-19 pandemic and vignette experiment. While effective communication stakeholders is critical for acquiring resources crises, little known about what strategies use these crises or their influence on fundraising. Notably, we find that entrepreneurs’ differ along three key dimensions: timing (proactive vs. reactive), target (entrepreneur other), nature (utilitarian personal), proactively addressing other stakeholders’ personal concerns attracts more funding than alternative approaches.

Research on the influence of internal and external stakeholders diversity outcomes within organizations has grown in past decade. Across multiple macro micro theoretical domains, this body research examined various at different organizational levels. Through an integrative review literature from management, sociology, psychology, entrepreneurship, we highlight channels pathways underlying mechanisms through which four major stakeholder groups—organizational actors, resource exchange partners, institutional societal forces—impact organizations. We discuss future directions, empirical conceptual, present a promising path for studies to unpack complex relationships between regarding issues, particularly intersection aspects.

Abstract In recent times, various crises have negatively affected the financial stability, job security, and health of countless individuals. According to research, different factors that operate at both individual contextual levels can play a prominent role in influencing people's self-employment during periods economic downturn. This study investigates changes likelihood by gender age across contexts following sudden shocks. By analyzing intersection occupational choice business cycle theories, this research offers insights into how affect ability work for themselves. Using sample over 250,000 individuals from sixteen countries applying multilevel binary logistic regression analysis, results confirm women older are less inclined be self-employed general. However, unexpected recessions may lead slight increase their self-employment. Furthermore, when seniors live higher GDP per capita context, context positively moderates relationship between gender, age, propensity entrepreneurship. These findings offer valuable policymakers seeking promote resilient among vulnerable post-crisis recovery.
