Contextual Behavioral Science (CBS) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy or Training ("ACT" in either case) are arguably entering their 5th decade of development. This paper describes features early history divides development into three phases, plus a fourth that is just beginning. In the context review, it examines what can be learned by content analysis first ∼1000 randomized controlled trials on ACT-based interventions, from 1986 through 2022. The expansive vision CBS ACT research base defined breadth as far wider than psychological intervention targeting traditional psychiatric syndromes, emphasizing instead principles, processes, components needed for more generally applicable approach. After an era scientific establishment, has expanded globally topically. Many RCTs now take place lower- middle-income countries with cultural policy environments give rise to unique priorities. Finally, based ACBS Task Force Report new findings, we suggest may personalized process-based "idionomic" forms functional analysis.

Abstract Psychological flexibility plays a crucial role in how young adults adapt to their evolving cognitive and emotional landscapes. Our study investigated core aspect of psychological adults: adaptive variability maladaptive rigidity the capacity for behavior change. We examined interplay these elements with cognitive-affective processes within dynamic network, uncovering manifestation everyday life. Through an Ecological Momentary Assessment design, we collected intensive longitudinal data over 3 weeks from 114 ages 19 32. Using network approach, assessed temporal dynamics individual relation this sample. Rigidity exhibited strongest directed association other variables as well highest strength centrality, demonstrating particularly strong associations contemporaneous network. In conclusion, results suggest that is associated negative affect cognitions at same time point immediate future.

This paper delves into the examination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a therapeutic modality reliant on both longitudinal and cross-sectional biopsychosocial data regarding client, through lens evolutionary language within process-based (PBT) framework. The exposition commences with an elucidation delineation pivotal features assumptions underpinning CBT, encompassing its philosophical foundations, postulated change processes, empirical research substantiating these processes. We posit ideas for clinicians to enhance their case formulation by incorporating principles invoking concepts such as variation, selection, retention, contextual fit. Furthermore, we offer illustration treatment plan utilizing network-based approach. In conclusion, explore potential strengths, barriers, future trajectories PBT. Although CBT has predominantly undergone scrutiny protocol in group-level outcome studies, assert that inherently operates process-driven model, evidenced established metrics assessing therapist competence implementation. Specifically, illustrate how judicious selection utilization specific procedures (techniques) targeting processes emanate from individualized integrative formulation. is rooted evidence supporting chosen procedure, aligned client's preferences goals, embedded in-session process selecting, planning, reviewing between-session homework. therefore, emerges model clinical practice training characterized inherent pragmatism, integrativeness, transtheoreticism. It aligns seamlessly emphasis process-informed, person-centered, evidence-based PBT
