Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation in Patients with Previous Mitral Valve Surgery—Review

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has become an optimal alternative in selected groups of patients and evolved from procedures non-option to lower-risk-profile patients. One its main indications is previous cardiac surgery, since redo-intervention burdened with a higher risk complications. However, TAVI after mitral surgery may raise concerns due potential interference the prosthesis or ring during procedure. The present paper reviews current knowledge, including possible complications procedural aspects.
