Abstract Ongoing efforts to design novel materials with efficient structure‐property‐performance relations prove challenging. Core‐shell structures have emerged as controlled production routes and highly tailorable properties that offer extensive advantages in advanced oxidation processing, particularly photocatalysis photoelectrochemical applications. WO 3 , which is an optoelectronically active semiconductor material, a popular material current studies the field of photo(electro)catalysis. Considerable progress has been made using core‐shell architectures, warrants evaluation terms processing preparedness for their use versatile catalytic energy storage This paper presents in‐depth assessment architectures by highlighting challenges protocols powder thin‐film chemical processing. The development specific designs targeted applications, such H 2 production, CO reduction, wastewater treatment, batteries, supercapacitors, sensing, analyzed. fundamental role enhance efficiency also discussed, along limitations improvement strategies. Further, prospects conversion environmental applications are suggested.
