Abstract Business strategy and the environment are becoming increasingly central within global agenda. In particular, some emerging countries such as India show strong growth in manufacturing sector while also exhibiting high emission values. This inevitably creates a paradox. Therefore, this study aims to determine drivers for Indian firms pursue sustainability. The methodologies used work is comprised of modified total interpretive structure modeling (m‐TISM) that based on 21 mitigate climate change cross‐impact matrix multiplication applied classification (MICMAC) evaluates dependence power driving drivers. findings from reflect there nine levels into which clusters divided. “greenhouse gas performance” “encouraging low carbon products” influenced by all other drivers, driver “dynamic transitions economic political situation” occupies mirror position. last has greatest impact achievement goal along with “persistent corporate conventionalities” situation.” dimension key asset context, but influence sustainable technology supply side responsible consumption demand cannot be overlooked. Businesses focus short‐term maximization not focusing renewable circular resources may uncompetitive long‐term.

Optimal reduction and equilibrium carbon allowance price for the thermal power industry under China’s peak carbon emissions target DOI Creative Commons

Abstract As the largest source of carbon emissions in China, thermal power industry is only emission-controlled first national market compliance cycle. Its conversion to clean-energy generation technologies also an important means reducing CO 2 and achieving peak neutral commitments. This study used fractional Brownian motion describe energy-switching cost constructed a stochastic optimization model on allowance (CA) trading volume emission-reduction strategy during period with Hurst exponent volatility coefficient estimated. We defined optimal enterprises as form unique solution Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation by combining dynamic principle Itô’s formula. In this manner, we obtained models for emission reduction equilibrium CA price. Our numerical analysis revealed that, within 2021–2030, reductions desired prices CAs changed concurrently, increasing trend annually different peak-year scenarios. Furthermore, sensitivity that energy price indirectly affected influencing exponent, depreciation rate positively impacted price, initial reduced findings can be develop strategies pricing market.
