Promoting technological innovation in the natural gas industry is a feasible means of achieving energy transition. Guided by geographic theory, this article carries out research on scale, technical fields, capabilities, and influencing factors 312 Chinese prefecture-level cities, making use cusp catastrophe model, center gravity standard deviational ellipse, exploratory spatial data analysis, geographically temporally weighted regression (GTWR). The last century has been characterised by very fast industrialisation and population growth, causing strong outmigration from the rural territories, further increasing socio-economic gap between urban areas. To counteract these problems, a lot of scholars have started studying development methodologies that could be applied to its evaluation. main research objective present work is investigate on worldwide scale how being evaluated and, more in detail, study quantitative indicator-based approaches used for this kind Bibliometric analysis was performed with aim understanding better way state scientific topic. Its duality, reflected nature phenomenon (negative or positive) which studies origin from, confirmed. During process also encountered new perspective – neutral one, central concept quality life. Regarding approaches, 47 selected papers analysed detail an extensive database containing 32 dimensions, 72 sub-dimensions 892 indicators created.
