Abstract
Diverting
food
waste
from
landfills
to
composting
or
anaerobic
digestion
can
reduce
greenhouse
gas
emissions,
enable
the
recovery
of
energy
in
usable
forms,
and
create
nutrient‐rich
soil
amendments.
However,
many
streams
are
mixed
with
plastic
packaging,
raising
concerns
that
waste‐derived
composts
digestates
may
inadvertently
introduce
microplastics
into
agricultural
soils.
Research
on
occurrence
amendments
is
an
early
phase
relative
importance

Amid
the
escalating
environmental
crises

economic
disparities,
Circular
Economy
(CE)
has
garnered
recognition
as
a
pragmatic
mechanism
for
achieving
Sustainable
Development
Goals
(SDGs).
In
response,
several
supply
chain
organisations
are
integrating
CE
strategies
into
their
business
operations

processes.
Despite
these
developments
since
introduction
of
Business
Charter
by
International
Chamber
Commerce
in
1991,
academic
corpus
comprehensively
connecting
research
themes,
catalysts,
deterrents,
practices
with
SDGs
remained
limited.
To
bridge
this
gap,
we
present
systematic
literature
review
(SLR)
operations,
management
encompassing
time
span
31
years
(January
1991
–
June
2022),
sourcing,
screening,
analysing
articles
obtained
from
multiple
databases.
Our
thematic
coding
analysis
generated
ten
subsequently
linking
them
relevant
SDGs.
