Abstract The excessive reliance on fossil fuels has resulted in an energy crisis, environmental pollution, and health problems, calling for alternative such as biodiesel. Here, we review computational chemistry machine learning optimizing biodiesel production from waste. This article presents techniques, characteristics, transesterification, waste materials, policies encouraging Computational techniques are applied to catalyst design deactivation, reaction reactor optimization, stability assessment, feedstock analysis, process scale-up, mechanims, molecular dynamics simulation. Waste comprise cooking oil, animal fat, vegetable algae, fish waste, municipal solid sewage sludge. oil represents about 10% of global production, restaurants alone produce over 1,000,000 m 3 annual. Microalgae produces 250 times more per acre than soybeans 7–31 palm oil. Transesterification food lipids can with a 100% yield. Sewage sludge significant biomass that contribute renewable production.

In response to increasing global waste generation due population growth, urbanization, and industrialization, wastewater treatment operations should shift from being solely energy consumers becoming producers by harnessing sludge (WWS). This approach holds great potential for meeting demands addressing the challenges of treatment. The recovery heat electrical WWS offers a viable solution reduce costs within WWTPs. Rapid population growth and urbanization have resulted in a multi-fold increase water consumption over the last few decades, resulting generation of large amounts sewage sludge that impose severe environmental burdens if not handled properly. Sludge management itself accounts for up to 50% total operating costs wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Conventional practices such as incineration, landfilling, ocean disposal been deemed difficult light today’s stringent legislation compliance standards. As result, progress has made toward developing more sustainable approaches management. This study reviews recent advancements techniques only ensure safe but also focus on utilizing potential feedstock energy resource recovery. Energy could be recovered by subjecting pre-treated controlled anaerobic digestion (AD) produce biogas or lipid content through esterification direct pyrolysis biodiesel/bio-oil. Heavy metals Ag, Au, Cu, Fe, Ga, Cr, others, well nutrients N, P, K, Mg, S, recovered. If recovery from is practiced global scale, it significantly contribute greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction. review discusses commercially developed still-under-research technologies other sludge.
