Cobalt–nitrogen co-doped carbon nanotubes (Co3@NCNT-800) were synthesized via a facile and economical approach to investigate the efficient degradation of organic pollutants in aqueous environments. This material demonstrated high catalytic efficiency carbamazepine (CBZ) presence peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The experimental data revealed that at neutral pH 7 an initial CBZ concentration 20 mg/L, application Co3@NCNT-800 0.2 g/L facilitated rate 64.7% within 60 min. Mechanistic investigations indicated pyridinic nitrogen cobalt species enhanced generation reactive oxygen species. Radical scavenging assays electron spin resonance spectroscopy confirmed radical nonradical pathways contributed degradation, with mechanism being predominant. research presents development novel PMS catalyst, through stable method, which provides cost-effective solution for remediation contaminants water.

Two new highly-efficient and eco-friendly biosorbents comprised of magnetite, chitosan Chlorella vulgaris (MCC) or Arthrospira platensis (MCA) were prepared in such a way to be easily separated reused for removing different classes antibiotics as tetracycline (TC), ciprofloxacin (CIP) amoxicillin (AMX) from wastewater. They characterized using SEM, FTIR TGA. Biosorption experiments performed investigate the impact pH, biosorbent dosage, initial antibiotic concentration, contact time, concentration background electrolytes (NaCl, KCl CaCl2) on adsorption. Both biocomposites showed outstanding performance removal. Equilibrium data modelled Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin-Radushkevich adsorption isotherms, among which first one gave best fit, with maximum TC, CIP AMX capacities 834.0, 394.9, 150.8 mg/g MCA 831.1, 374.2, 140.2 MCC, respectively. To follow time-evolution, pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order intraparticle diffusion kinetic models tested, second proved best-fitting one. Emerging contaminants (ECs), encompassing pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, and industrial chemicals, represent a growing threat to ecosystems human health due their persistence, bioaccumulation potential, often-unknown toxicological profiles. Addressing these challenges necessitates advanced analytical tools capable of detecting quantifying trace levels ECs in complex environmental matrices. This review highlights the pivotal role mass spectrometry (MS) monitoring ECs, emphasizing its high sensitivity, specificity, versatility across various techniques such as Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Liquid (LC-MS), High-Resolution Mass (HR-MS). The application MS has facilitated real-time detection volatile organic compounds, comprehensive non-targeted screening unknown contaminants, accurate quantification diverse matrices including water, soil, air. Despite effectiveness, matrix interferences, lack standardized methodologies, limited spectral libraries persist. However, recent advancements, hybrid systems integration artificial intelligence (AI), are paving way for more efficient predictive modeling contaminant behavior. Although metal clusters are generally considered as impurities accompanying the synthesis of single atom catalysts, their extraordinary potential in regulating catalytic reactions has attracted widespread attention. In this study, iron cluster decorated catalyst (Fe-SACAs) were synthesized to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for removal organic pollutants, and a differential PMS activation mechanism induced by selective adsorption pollutants was observed first time.
