The generation of waste materials is an inevitable byproduct various human and ecological activities. Inadequate management can have detrimental effects on the environment, leading to long-lasting harm both living organisms broader ecosystem. The integration of circular economy (CE) principles within organizational strategies has become imperative for companies committed to sustainability and resource efficiency. This study explores the adoption CE role balanced scorecard (BSC) as a facilitative tool. By contextualizing significance adoption, this paper reviews existing BSC models that incorporate aspects evaluates software solutions implementation. Subsequently, novel methodological framework was proposed. As novelty, strategic analysis included use SWOT analysis. Purpose This study aims to investigate how knowledge management (KM) influences the achievement of sustainable objectives in new ventures, considering mediating roles board composition and financial performance. Design/methodology/approach considers primary secondary data from 177 Italian start-ups. Data collection involved a standardized questionnaire assess KM processes practices, supplemented with on performance gender directors (BoD). The analysis was conducted using partial least squares structural equation modeling evaluate relationships between diversity, performance, outcomes. Findings results reveal significant positive impact firms’ practices. Specifically, diversity within BoD higher were identified as mediators start-ups’ sustainability programs. Purpose This study aims to examine how employees’ perception of the ethical conduct their leaders affects level green innovation and environmental performance.
