As

Considering
China's
green
credit
policy
(GCP)
as
a
quasi-natural
experiment,
this
study
discusses
the
effect
of
GCP
on
enterprise
innovation
(GI)
using
difference-in-difference
method
based
data
from
Chinese
listed
companies
2009
to
2020.
The
results
indicate
that
enhances
strategic
GI
heavy
polluters
while
significantly
inhibiting
essential
GI,
thus
suggesting
nonexistence
Porter
effect.
In
addition,
inhibition
is
attributed
an
increase
in
financing
constraints
and
reduction
government
subsidies,
firm
research
development
investment,
employment
scale.

pronounced
privately
owned
firms,
small
cities,
capital-intensive
