The introduction of digitalization and the promotion eco-innovation, move towards financial development, appearance alternative practices such as crowdfunding well adoption freer economic systems represent plausible enablers sustainable transition potentially help to increase nations' competitiveness. However, knowledge is scarce about their contribution. present study fills gap in sustainability literature by proposing a complexity theory lens dataset spanning four years from 2015 2018 for 18 countries which captures possible configurations chosen factors that allow achieve two outcomes: transitions findings show three each outcome. Abstract This study aimed to examine the impact of China’s political openness index and foreign direct investment on its ecotourism from 1985 2019. The findings revealed that a 1% rise in had long-term effect, increasing sustainable tourism by 0.01%. Furthermore, played significant role boosting China over both short long periods. A increase corresponded 0.32 0.53% term, respectively. Additionally, financial positive with improvement resulting approximately 0.24 0.23% increases index. Key policies advance eco-tourism include ensuring stability, enhancing green markets through fintech blockchain, implementing poverty alleviation measures.

ABSTRACT Sustainable cities are essential drivers of global social progress, but the effectiveness smart city (SC) initiatives in fostering inclusive green growth (IGG) remains uncertain. This study assesses impact SC on IGG using data from 281 Chinese prefecture‐level 2007 to 2020. We explore both theoretical and empirical dimensions, focusing mechanisms through which pilot policies influence IGG. By treating varied implementation pilots as exogenous shocks a difference‐in‐difference (DID) framework combined with machine learning algorithms, we find significant increase that adopted compared those did not. Our results highlight critical role advancing IGG, robust after rigorous robustness checks. The positive effects primarily driven by three key pathways: enhancing financial inclusion, promoting industrial upgrading, stimulating innovation. Notably, is more pronounced economically developed regions, particularly eastern part China larger cities. However, contribution less smaller areas weaker economic dynamism, central western regions. underscores importance offers new insights into relationship between informatization sustainable development.
