Third-party loop operators play an important role in the circular economy (CE) by closing resource loops for other firms. These third-party face a key business model decision: whether to perform CE activities in-house or externally. We adopt activity-based view (ABV) as theoretical lens divide into five activities: collection, sorting, pre-processing, transformation, and integration. By analysing 79 using Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA), we found that these are performed two bundles. When collection activity in-house, they likely sorting well. The remaining (pre-processing, integration) also together, either Furthermore, identify some boundary conditions affect why bundles supply concentration is high, tend because access highly concentrated sources can result competitive advantage. uncertainty about waste condition low, develop efficient integration in-house. Activity gaps emerge when no actor market carry out activity. In this case, fill gap carrying internally.

The building industry is one of the most resource-intensive sectors in industrialized countries, requiring a shift from linear to more sustainable circular economic model. Facing increasing sustainability demands, the construction industry is at a turning point where implementation of circular economy (CE) strategies plays an essential role in driving necessary transformation aimed reducing environmental impact. To facilitate this shift, structural engineering must effectively integrate principles into building design. With exponential growth research articles within field, it crucial to map evolution area. The objective study detail trends with, challenges to, and contributions, integration, material applications CE engineering. Consequently, systematic mapping field has been conducted study. Initially, process began with identification relevant keywords, followed by searches across four databases. Each resulting article was carefully screened against content criteria, culminating 91 publications that were thoroughly evaluated. then categorized analyzed based on attributes such as type, design, materials, applications. results are presented through informative figures tables. analysis indicates predominant focus technical solutions for systems, demountable connections designed future reuse materials representing more than half literature reviewed. A significant portion also addresses designing from reclaimed elements; these reflect approaches, incorporating computational design innovative methodologies. steel prominent reviewed literature. However, there timber, which signals definitive shift toward sustainable systems. Recurring identified regarding transition include need industry-wide adoption, precise standardization, integration digital tools, overcoming related obstacles policy market acceptances.
