The aim of the article is to demonstrate effects distribution and application EU structural funds on improving energy efficiency buildings (IEEB) in regions Poland. Conducting detailed analyses, based data from 3,914 projects co-financed with a total €1.876 billion under 16 Regional Operational Programs (ROPs) 2014–2020, led indentification similarities differences regard beneficiaries, implemented investments, spatial funds. In all regions, huge disparity was observed disbursement favor self-government units compared other categories beneficiaries. Considering thermo-modernization combination measures dominated, their regional differentiation mainly due nature age buildings. largest amounts subsidies were obtained by cities northern, western southern Poland, whereas more numerous though individually smaller rural areas central eastern investments still reflects post-partition division recommendations developed guide policy thinking for better implementation IEEB actions within framework Cohesion Policy.

Improving the energy efficiency of buildings (IEEBs) is crucial to achieving European Union’s ambitious climate and goals. To channel these efforts, new policies, legislation, sources funding, mechanisms for distributing funds, programs, support tools are being introduced. The purpose this study demonstrate effects disbursement EU Cohesion Policy 2014–2020 funds on IEEBs in Poland Germany, filling research gap regarding regional differentiation investments, beneficiaries, spatial distribution subsidies projects. An analysis was made 7818 projects implemented under operational programs from Regional Development Funds Thematic Objective 4. This conducted two main variables: (1) beneficiaries (8 categories) (2) investments categories).
