In order to improve the sowing performance of air-pressure maize dense planting high-speed precision seed-metering device and reduce occurrence multiple missed seeds phenomenon, a seed-cleaning mechanism with progressive seed scraper was designed. The structure working principle are described, mechanical model before after excess enters cleaning area is established, design parameters key components determined through method theoretical analysis. experiments single-factor multi-factor conducted clearing angle, operating speed, positive pressure value blower as influencing factors, qualified index, miss index experimental indexes. results show that optimal seed-clearing parameter combination angle 0.024°, speed 10 km/h, 6.0 kPa, verification test 98.11%, 1.44%, 0.45%. comparative experiment, increased by about 2.3% compared without mechanism, decreased 2.2%. reasonably designed meet operation requirements device.

Introduction This study introduces a new technical method that involves adjusting the seed-filling posture and fluidizing seed group to improve capacity of mechanical seed-metering devices for high-speed maize planting. The design novel posture-adjusting device is presented its operating principle described. In area, seeds maintain same postural characteristics are detached from group. creates favorable conditions achieve effective under planting conditions. Methods Firstly, key parameters core component were analyzed. Secondly, influences efficiency flow distribution on effect clarified by EDEM simulation. Finally, metering performance was optimized validated using bench testing. Results experiment demonstrated type A groove had highest efficiency, more uniform distribution, superior as compared other types. best achieved with an opening angle 21.6° width 8.4 mm; this resulted in pass, repeat, leak rates 94.8%, 1.3%, 3.9%, respectively. Within speed range 8–14 km/h, pass rate over 94%, repeat below 2.1%, 3.9%. Discussion designed better than without mechanism, thus proving effectiveness method. These findings provide reference improving devices.
