Emerging economies and ecosystems are critically dependent on fossil fuels, a country’s energy dependence is significant measure of its reliance foreign suppliers. This study evaluates the impact intensity, CO 2 emission utilization renewable resources in 35 developing 20 developed nations, as well connection between (REN), GDP growth, emissions. employs generalized linear model (GLM) robust least squares (RLS) method to assess inverse association economy policymakers, utilizing unique panel estimate approaches (1970–2022). The response variable economic consumption, emissions across four continents investigated this study. findings indicate that countries experience rise per capita if their use exceeds capacity. finding remains even when other proxies for introduced using modified approaches. Furthermore, it particularly relevant industrialized nations possess more institutions. Even surprisingly, terms intensity required has accelerated all components. regional analysis revealed spillover most areas, suggesting consequences essentially same neighboring countries. growth sector decrease greenhouse gas depend ability exchange unions mitigate negative environmental impacts dependency. These underdeveloped need spend research development catch up technologically.

Abstract Global challenges, such as the COVID‐19 impacts, climate crisis, and geopolitical tensions, have prompted economic transformations. These issues led to macroeconomic data assuming non‐normal distributions, necessitating a nonlinear analytical approach. As result, this study unveils influence of energy intensity, renewable energy, growth, financial development on carbon dioxide emissions in Iceland from 1995Q1 2020Q4 using Quantile‐on‐Quantile Kernel‐Based Regularized Least Squares (QQKRLS) Wavelets Quantile Correlation (WQC) methods. The QQKRLS results showed that growth are negatively associated with across various quantiles, while is positively linked emissions. Furthermore, WQC outcomes confirm QQKRLS. In addition, short medium term, affects long influences light gleaned study, should continue its path investments, create policies will completely decouple emissions, ensure system funding clean activities. This provides roadmap for sustainable environmental development.

The aim of this study is to review and identify H2 storage suitability in geological reservoirs the Republic Lithuania. Notably, Lithuania can store clean effectively competitively because its wealth resources well-established infrastructure. viability Lithuanian contexts highlighted study. In addition, when it comes injectivity capacity, salt caverns saline aquifers present less a challenge than other kinds medium. possesses sizable subterranean (Cambrian rocks) that be utilized H2. For preliminary assessment, cyclic injection, production simulation performed. A 10-year hydrogen injection recovery Syderiai aquifer demonstrated feasibility UHS, though efficiency was reduced by nearly 50% using single well for both production. suggests separate wells improve efficiency. However, guarantee economic containment security, detailed assessment structures required specifically at pore scale level. volumetric approach estimated combined capacity approximately 898.5 Gg (~11 TWh) Vaskai aquifers, significantly exceeding previous estimates. findings underscore importance data further research on hydrogen-specific factors optimize UHS Addressing technical, geological, environmental challenges through multidisciplinary essential advancing implementation supporting Lithuania’s transition sustainable energy system. makes possible maximize use energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, build more resilient Hence, intensive advancements are needed broader applications

ABSTRACT The world's energy systems have been critical in the face of growing threat climate change. transition progress proved unsuccessful at COP27, while COP28 provided an opportunity to question whether need a revolution avoid disasters and attain carbon neutrality goals. In this regard, present study aims explore structural changes sector can help nations achieve neutrality. For purpose, we empirically analyze impact both non‐renewable renewable sources on CO 2 emissions intensity energy. Specifically, targeted top five climate‐laggard economies—that is, New Zealand, Australia, Philippines, Mexico, Indonesia—which are making efforts toward but lagging race due their high reliance fossil fuels total mix. We employed Cross‐Sectionally Augmented Auto‐Regressive Distributed Lag (CS‐ARDL) model data collected from 1990 2022 examine findings empirically. research showed that likely lead higher intensity.
