Purpose
The
growing
attention
to
green
supply
chain
transparency
prompts
firms
disclose
their
environmental
efforts
and
manage
issues
along
chains.
Drawn
upon
diffusion
theory,
this
study
aims
investigate
how
customers’
can
be
diffused
suppliers
for
similar
actions,
as
well
(diffusors’)
characteristics
suppliers’
(followers’)
capability
in
digital
technology
application
moderate
the
relationship.
Design/methodology/approach
This
collects
secondary
data
of
1,514
unique
customer-supplier
dyad
year
observations
Chinese
listed
disclosed
from
2009
2022.
A
fixed-effect
regression
model
is
used
test
hypotheses.
Findings
reveals
a
positive
association
between
those
suppliers.
Furthermore,
relationship
strengthened
when
customers
are
state-owned
or
possess
higher
levels
capability.
These
findings
remain
robust
alternative
measures
variables
employed.

contributes
literature
by
uncovering
mechanism

further
identifies
moderators
diffusion,
including
ownership

To
implement
the
United
Nations'
sustainable
development
goals
(SDGs),
corporate
focus
has
shifted
towards
firm
environmental,
social,
and
governance
(ESG)
practices.
We
use
Yin-Yang
dialectical
systems
institutional
theory
to
examine
ecosystem-based
business
model
(EBM)
innovation
investigate
conflicting
results
in
extant
empirical
studies
of
relationship
between
ESG,
EBM
innovation,
cross-cultural
legitimacy
China.
Using
panel
data
from
Chinese
A-share
listed
companies
2010
2023,
we
reveal
an
inverted
U-shaped
ESG
moderated
by
suggest
how
enterprises
can
achieve
objectives
while
navigating
cultural
conflicts
within
a
systemic
framework.
