Abstract
The
current
textile
industry
is
characterised
by
unsustainable
business
models.
There
a
need
to
transform
the
towards
sufficiency
–
that
where
consumption
decreased

adequate

planetary
boundaries.
Through
literature
review
interviews
with
small
Finnish
companies,
our
research
synthesizes
previous
provides
new
information
about
practices
companies
can
employ
advance
as
part
of
their
everyday
business.

six
categories:

valuing
quality
over
quantity,

enabling
multiple

interaction
(6)
embracing
locality.

strategy
are

context
specific
including,
for
example,
permanent
collections,
not
having
discounts,

second-hand
products

during
use
phase.
It
important

however,
studied
strategies

study
examines:

tensions
arise

local
textile

fashion
manufacturing,

owners

managers

Norwegian
companies,

three
main
categories
tensions:

Belonging
vs
Performing;
Spatial:
Organizing;

Competence:

Learning.

four
interrelated
coping
used
by
actors
tackle
strengthen

manufacturing
global
industry.
