The increasing demand for zinc resources and the declining availability of sulfide ore reserves have made efficient utilization oxide a topic considerable interest. In this study, ternary composite collector ABN (Al-BHA-NaOL system) was applied to direct flotation smithsonite. Micro-flotation studies showed that at pH 9, exhibited better adsorption on smithsonite, achieving recovery rate 80.62%. Visual MINTEQ 3.1 zeta potential analysis confirmed predominantly reacted with Zn(OH)2(aq) surface Furthermore, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) results elucidated formation Al-O bonds through chemical smithsonite surface. Additionally, powder contact angle measurements indicated enhances These illuminate is adsorbed by reacting O sites hydroxylated metal ions surface, Al serving as center, thereby separation purification. Due ABN’s characteristics, can achieve clean without sulfidization.
