Selenium promotes plant growth and improves nutritional quality, the role of nano-selenium in alfalfa regulating quality is unknown. In this study, using 15N labeling method, it was found that could promote nitrogen metabolism photosynthesis by increasing light energy capture capacity activities key enzymes process, leading to an increase accumulation dry matter content. The transcriptome metabolome revealed mainly affected pathways 'biosynthesis amino acids', 'starch sucrose metabolism', 'pentose glucuronate interconversions', phosphate pathway', 'flavonoid biosynthesis'. At early stage treatment, metabolism, sugar flavonoid were regulated modulating expression genes such as NR, Nir, GS, GOGAT, E3.1.1.11, adh, CHS, FLS, etc., which increased amount L-glutamic, L-histidine, glycerone-P, coniferin, naringenin chalcone, other beneficial substances, thus promoting acceleration plants. summary, study provides a better understanding mechanisms regulates metabolic alfalfa.
