China’s rapid urbanization has significantly impacted carbon emissions in rural areas, driving the need for region-specific management strategies to achieve country’s dual goals. However, previous research primarily focused on large urban centers, leaving a gap understanding spatial and temporal patterns of at county level regions. This study focuses Guanzhong region Shaanxi Province develops county-level emission accounting system based geographic, socio-economic, land-use data. The are categorized into energy, industrial processes, agriculture, waste management. Key findings indicate that residential sectors primary contributors emissions, with Xi’an being largest emitter. Carbon intensity follows ranking < Weinan Baoji Xianyang Tongchuan. Spatial show “core-edge” distribution, higher centers lower areas. also highlights sink potential southern Qinling National Park. provides valuable framework low-carbon development offers critical insights policymakers aiming balance reduction economic growth China.
