ABSTRACT This study evaluates the direct and indirect effects of environmental, social, governance (ESG) implementations on green process innovation (GPCI) social performance (SCP) in Vietnamese manufacturing firms, respectively. Exploring moderating role proactive environmental strategy (PES) absorptive capacity (GAC) impact ESG GPCI are next objectives. These investigations supported by legitimacy theory dynamic capability theory. Through survey method, data collected from 205 managers' responses were analyzed partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results show important contributions. First, have a positive GPCI. Second, is driving force behind SCP. Third, an influence SCP through Fourth, positively moderated GAC PES. Further analysis shows that three‐way interaction (ESG × PES GAC) enhances Therefore, above fully support theory, thus they provide highly theoretical contributions managerial implications.

Corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance has emerged as a critical focus of societal academic interest. This study employs an empirical analysis utilizing sample Chinese A-share listed companies to investigate the relationship between ESG green technology innovation. The results demonstrate that significantly enhances innovation, with digital transformation acting moderating variable in this relationship. Furthermore, reveals corporate social responsibility internal mechanisms exert more substantial influence on innovation compared other dimensions. This research investigates how female CEOs and board gender composition (BGC) influence environmental innovation. Using a panel dataset of 237 energy companies, the study reveals that are more committed to environment than males. Interestingly, findings also show BGC positively moderates CEO innovation nexus. Additionally, it have significant on promoting environmentally friendly in profitable companies The remain strong after various robustness tests, contributing ongoing debate equality offering novel insights into green footprint.
