In this research, considering the air methodology, an axisymmetric model was developed, validated, and calibrated for numerical simulation of Oscillating Water Column (OWC) converter subjected to a realistic sea state, representative Cassino beach, in south Brazil. To do so, Finite Volume Method (FVM) used, through Fluent software (Version 18.1), airflow inside hydro-pneumatic chamber turbine duct OWC. Furthermore, influence geometric parameters on available power OWC evaluated Constructal Design combined with Exhaustive Search. For this, search space 100 configurations defined by means variation two degrees freedom: ratio between height diameter (H1/L1) smallest base connection, whose surface revolution has trapezoidal shape, (H2/L2). The (H3/L3) kept constant. results indicated that highest achieved lowest values H1/L1 H2/L2, optimal case being obtained = 0.1 H2/L2 0.81, achieving 839 times greater than worst case. found are impractical real devices, making it necessary limit converters 500 kW make assessment closer reality; thus, 15.5 case, these consistent other studies developed. As theoretical recommendation practical purposes, one can infer over OWC’s H2/L2.

Accurate and reliable wind speed prediction plays a significant role in ensuring the reasonable scheduling of power resources. However, sequences often exhibit complex characteristics such as instability volatility, which create substantial challenges for prediction. In order to cope with these challenges, multi-step method based on secondary decomposition (SD) techniques deep learning models is proposed this paper. First, original signal was decomposed into multiple by using two techniques, multi-scale wavelet spectrum analysis (MWPSA) variational mode (VMD). Second, model constructed combining convolutional neural networks (CNNs), bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) networks, attention mechanism perform predicting each sequence, parameters were optimized particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Ultimately, results from all combined generate final The predictive performance evaluated real data collected farm China. Experimental show that significantly outperforms other comparison prediction, highlights its accuracy reliability.

Accurate wind speed forecasting is crucial for the efficient operation of renewable energy platforms, such as turbines, it facilitates more effective management power output and maintains grid reliability stability. However, inherent variability intermittency present significant challenges achieving precise forecasts. To address these challenges, this study proposes a novel method based on Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN) deep learning-based Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network forecasting. In proposed method, CEEMDAN utilized to decompose original signal into different modes capture multiscale temporal properties patterns speeds. Subsequently, LSTM employed predict each subseries derived from process. These individual predictions are then combined generate overall final forecast. The validated using real-world data Austria Almeria. Experimental results indicate that achieves minimal mean absolute percentage errors 0.3285 0.1455, outperforming other popular models across multiple performance criteria.

Urban energy systems planning presents significant challenges, requiring the integration of multiple objectives such as economic feasibility, technical reliability, and environmental sustainability. Although previous studies have focused on optimizing renewable systems, many lack comprehensive decision frameworks that address complex trade-offs between these in urban settings. Addressing this study introduces a novel Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) framework tailored for evaluation prioritization scenarios contexts, with specific application to city Bozen-Bolzano. The proposed integrates various performance indicators provide assessment tool, enabling planners make informed decisions balance different strategic priorities. At core is Technique Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), which employed systematically rank based their proximity an ideal solution. This method allows clear, quantifiable comparison diverse strategies, facilitating identification best align city’s overall objectives. flexibility MCDA framework, particularly through adjustable criteria weights TOPSIS, it accommodate shifting priorities planners, whether they emphasize economic, environmental, or outcomes. study’s findings underscore importance holistic approach planning, where are inevitable but can be managed effectively structured decision-making process. Finally, addresses key gaps literature providing flexible adaptable tool replicated contexts support transition toward 100% systems.
