Smart cities aim to enhance the quality of life by advancing infrastructure, leveraging technology, and promoting sustainability, balancing environmental, societal, economic needs for long-term efficiency. Given resource scarcity environmental regulations, advanced supply chains play a crucial role in developing smart adopting circular economy concept, which emphasizes maximizing efficiency through recycling remanufacturing. This study delves into competition between two types context reverse logistics: hybrid chain, utilizes dual channel including traditional e-channels collecting used products, relies solely on channel. Both chain models are actively involved remanufacturing each considers varied policies, incentive-based advertising investments, acceptance return level, processing time, transportation their performance. Specifically, this research has primary objectives: (1) evaluating outcomes across three competitive scenarios, (2) analyzing impact policy settings these outcomes. These objectives frame analysis optimal incentive values, rates, profitability Nash equilibrium Nash–Stackelberg structures, providing insights both strategic dimensions operations. The findings indicate that case achieves higher rates profitability, highlighting success its dual-channel strategy associated policies. Regarding goals, achieve highest profits under leadership structure. However, favors while prefers with leadership. scenario-specific results emphasize importance aligning goals tailored strategies. A sensitivity analysis, supported Pareto prioritization, identifies level time as critical advertisement investments key chain. suggest H-SCs should prioritize stricter standards, efficient inspection protocols, automation (e.g., AI or optical scanning) improve Meanwhile, T-SCs focus channels emphasizing faster less restrictive automated management strategies similar engagement profitability. show integrating city internet-based initiatives managing related can optimizing performance, ultimately fostering more resilient sustainable chains.
