Given the adverse effects of anticholinergic drugs and necessity for medication evaluation tools in aging population, a comprehensive scale to assess total burden Japan was developed. Abstract Purpose Secondary to the risk of antipsychotic-induced acute dystonia, prophylactic use benztropine is occasionally warranted but recommended for no longer than 7 days after initiating an antipsychotic, correlating period highest dystonia risk. Despite associated increased anticholinergic burden, many clinicians continue order periods exceeding duration.
