Environmental pollution caused by organic effluents emitted industry has become a worldwide issue and poses serious threat to the public ecosystem. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), comprising metal-containing clusters bridging ligands, are porous crystalline materials, possessing fascinating shape size-dependent properties such as high surface area, abundant active sites, well-defined crystal morphologies, huge potential for functionalization. To date, numerous well designated MOFs have emerged critical functional materials solve growing challenges associated with water environmental issues. Here we present recent progress of MOF-based their applications in treatment effluents. Firstly, several traditional emerging synthesis strategies MOF composites introduced. Then, structural regulations presented analyzed. Finally, typical treating effluents, including chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, agricultural wastewaters summarized. Overall, this review is anticipated tailor design regulation boosting performance effluent remediation.
