This research focuses on finding an alternative to expensive cement in the construction industry Pakistan by utilizing pozzolanic materials, specifically volcanic ash/bentonite clay.By replacing a portion of with bentonite (10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%), study demonstrates potential reduce net consumption cost while also contributing more durable concrete reducing energy greenhouse gas emissions.Physical properties such as setting time fineness were studied, compressive, flexural, split tensile strength mixes compared at 7 28 days curing.While decreased successive addition bentonite, rate reduction was much lower than days.The results validate feasibility developing low-cost using partial replacement for cement.

ZSM-5 zeolite is a multifunctional material highly efficient for adsorbing ions. Our was synthesized by employing nucleating gel as structure-directing agent, followed homogenization and hydrothermal treatment. The as-prepared physicochemically characterized to assess its properties. Next, the employed an adsorbent remove rare earth elements, REEs from synthetic solutions real phosphogypsum leachate under batch mode operation. As expected, discovered be microporous with abundant surface functionalities, which could positively impact REE adsorption. adsorption data indicated high affinity between all three rapid kinetics capacities. modeling study suggested that kinetic were well fitted Avrami-fractional order, Liu described equilibrium data. maximum capacity Ce3+, La3+, Nd3+ 99.42 mg g-1, 96.43 118.10 respectively. Brewer’s spent grains (BSG) are a significant by-product of beer production, and its improper disposal poses environmental challenges. This study investigated the use BSG for activated carbon production with phosphoric acid as chemical activator application in cheese whey remediation through liquid-phase adsorption. The adsorbent was thoroughly characterized using techniques such FTIR, SEM, N2 isotherms, surface charge distribution. exhibited substantial pores, high area (605.1 m2 g–1), good porosity, positive charges that facilitated favorable interactions compounds. Equilibrium achieved 330 min lactose, BOD5, COD. maximum adsorption capacities were 12.77 g g–1 3940.99 mg O2 12,857.92 g−1 COD at 318 K. Removing these adsorbates from effluent reduces organic load, enabling water reuse manufacturing unit, depending on intended use. process spontaneous endothermic, ΔH° ≥ 265.72 kJ mol−1. Additionally, produced demonstrated impressive regeneration capability sodium hydroxide, maintaining 75% capacity. These results emphasize potential an effective remediation, providing sustainable solution waste management dairy industry reuse.
