Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) from sludge fermentation liquid (SFL) is simultaneously recovered by La-modified zeolite (LMZ) prepared modifying with lanthanum hydroxide (La(OH)3). The results showed that LMZ could selectively adsorb ammonium phosphate SFL, leaving short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the SFL. Modification increased specific surface area of 35.25%. Langmuir model fitting maximum adsorption capacities for were 24.77 mg/g 9.14 mg/g, 7 times 75 higher than those natural zeolite, respectively. Additionally, exhibited strong selectivity presence co-existing ions. Notably, after 6 cycles adsorption/desorption, still held 80 % its capacity as well 93 desorption efficiency, presenting excellent stability. XPS Zeta potential indicated inner sphere complex forming through ligand exchange between hydroxyl groups on La(OH)3 phosphate, electrostatic attraction La-OH2+ anions, main mechanisms adsorption. Adsorption SFL possessed simultaneous selective 75.11% 83.40% sorption This work indicates promising to remove SCFAs which great significance recovering N P improving quality carbon sources biological removal processes.

Waste-based sustainable solutions proposed by scientific and industrial communities for energy production are an approach that can respond to the growing concerns regarding climate change fossil resources depletion. This study investigates a two-phase bioprocess combining dark fermentation (DF) photo-fermentation (PF) enhance hydrogen yield while anaerobically treating urban organic food waste sewage sludge. A key objective was assess effect of composition temperature on accumulation, with particular attention product role zeolite in improving process efficiency. In DF stage, addition significantly enhanced increasing microbial activity substrate bioavailability. As result, increased up 27.3 mmol H2/(L d) under thermophilic conditions. After suspended solids were removed from broth, step driven pure strain Rhodopseudomonas palustris performed permanent IR light different substrate-to-inoculum [S/I] ratios. The maximum rate 9.33 d), when R. inoculated at lowest ratio (<20 COD/COD) 0.5 g VSS/L as initial concentration. condition led increase 35% compared values obtained alone.
