The sustainability of aquaculture tailwater plays a key role in the industry. Photocatalytic degradation recalcitrant antibiotics has emerged as significant research focus, with gCN-based photocatalysis offering promising approach. To address issue inefficient associated gCN, melamine was modified using NaCl solution, resulting synthesis NaMe-x distinctive microstructure through molten salt assistance. ability to degrade tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) examined, including an analysis its pathway, intermediate products, mechanism, and toxicity by-products. results demonstrated that NaCl-based precursor modification markedly enhanced capacity gCN for TC-HCl, achieving maximum rate 0.02214 min−1, which is 2.1 times higher than unmodified gCN. LC-MS revealed intermediates at various stages, two potential pathways TC-HCl presence NaMe-1 were identified. In this process, ·O2− ·OH are reactive radicals play dominant role, their mechanism thus proposed. It confirmed by experiments products after not significantly toxic Chlorella vulgaris (p ˃ 0.05). However, it had effect on Vibrio fischeri < 0.01). These findings suggest via substantially improves performance enhances tailwater.
