challenge
in
Africa
and

the
world,
with
its
volume
continuing
to
increase
at
an
alarming
rate.
In
Africa,
estimated
25–33%
of
daily
is

plastic,

environment,

life,
human
health.
One
potential
solution
this
problem
waste-to-energy
recycling,
such
as
pyrolysis,
which
involves
conversion
materials
into
oil,
char,
non-condensable
gasses
through
thermochemical
process

oxygen.
Given
abundance
continent’s
energy
challenges,
pyrolysis
offers
sustainable
solution.
This
review
delves
concept
products,
thermodynamics,
endothermic
kinetics,
presenting
it
promising
way
address
plastic
Africa.

waste,
continent
faces
barriers
achieving
target,
including
infrastructural,
economic,
social
difficulties.
It
crucial

strategies
for
managing
mitigate
environmental
degradation
promote
cleaner
healthier
living
environment.

highlighted
viable
management,
can
convert
valuable
byproducts
syngas.
Case
studies
from
countries
like
South
Nigeria
demonstrate
scaling
management
issues
while
generating
job
opportunities.

regulatory
support,
public
awareness
overcome
challenges

full

benefits

Abstract
The
escalating
severity
of
plastic
waste's
impact
on
the
ecological
environment
and
human
health
emphasize
crucial
importance
developing
resource‐conserving
disposal
technologies
for
sustainable
development.
Carbon‐based
materials
possess
extensive
functional
applications
across
various
fields,
however,
their
high
production
costs
heavy
reliance
fossil
fuels
pose
challenges.
Plastic
wastes
serve
as
ideal
precursors
green
carbon‐based
due
to
carbon
content
low‐cost.
This
review
provides
a
comprehensive
summary
recent
research
progress
waste‐derived
(PWCMs)
including
primary
strategies
constructing
PWCMs
current
in
energy
storage,
environmental
remediation
organic
synthesis.
