ABSTRACT Copper ions (Cu 2+ ) play a crucial role in biological processes; however, excessive intake can result severe health problems. Current methods for detecting copper are both expensive and complex. Therefore, there is need efficient straightforward visual detection methods. In this study, novel nitrogen‐doped carbon dots (N‐CDs) were synthesized via microchannel method using diethylenetriamine citric acid as precursors characterized by TEM, XRD, IR, among others. The N‐CDs demonstrated high selectivity strong fluorescence, showing linear quenching response to with limit of 46 nM, whereas other common metal ions, such Ca Mg , exhibited negligible interference even at higher concentrations. These subsequently applied test paper, allowing on‐site quantitative colorimetric method. This approach provides solution the rapid significant potential environmental monitoring, public health, industrial applications.
