ABSTRACT This study presents the synthesis, structural characterization, and photocatalytic evaluation of three polymeric complexes: [Co(L) 2 (phen)(H O) ] n ( 1 ), (bip)(H [Ni(L) 3 ). Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis revealed that all complexes exhibit distorted octahedral coordination geometries, with Co (II) Ni centers coordinated by L 2− , bipyridine/phenanthroline ligands, water molecules. The three‐dimensional frameworks are stabilized intramolecular hydrogen bonding, resulting in robust networks. Thermogravimetric (TGA) demonstrated excellent thermal stability for complexes, decomposition observed at high temperatures a nitrogen atmosphere. UV–visible spectroscopy band gaps 2.9, 2.8, 3.2 eV respectively, highlighting their potential as photocatalysts. Photocatalytic experiments using Erythrosin B under optimized conditions (30 mg/L, pH = 7, 4 mg catalyst) achieved remarkable degradation efficiency 92.5% UV light 90.8% sunlight within 20 min. Trapping confirmed superoxide radicals were dominant reactive species process. comprehensive investigation underscores these metal–organic efficient environmentally friendly photocatalysts dye various sources.
