The effect of Cr(VI) and bisphenol A (BPA) on U(VI) photoreduction by C3N4 photocatalyst was demonstrated the batch experiments, electron spin resonance (ESR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), absorption near edge structure (XANES), extended fine (EXAFS) techniques. experiments manifested that BPA enhanced photocatalytic activity for photoreduction, whereas significantly diminished with increased pH from 4.0 to 8.0. According radical scavengers ESR analysis, photoreduced U(IV) photogenerated electrons conduction band edge, reduced Cr(III) H2O2. its products such as organic acid alcohols can capture photoinduced holes, which resulted in enhancement U(IV). XPS XANES analyses gradually within irradiation 60 min, reoxidized increasing time. EXAFS analysis determined dominant interaction mechanisms after 240 min were reductive precipitation inner-sphere surface complexation. This work highlights synergistic removal radionuclides, heavy metals, persistent pollutants C3N4, is crucial design application a high-performance actual environmental cleanup.

Nowadays, the increasing emergence of antibiotic-resistant pathogenic microorganisms requires search for alternative methods that do not cause drug resistance. Phototherapy strategies (PTs) based on photoresponsive materials have become a new trend in inactivation due to their spatiotemporal controllability and negligible side effects. Among those phototherapy strategies, photocatalytic antimicrobial therapy (PCAT) has emerged as an effective promising strategy recent years. In process treatment, are excited by different wavelengths lights produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) or other toxic killing various microbes, such bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, algae. Therefore, this review timely summarizes latest progress PCAT field, with emphasis development antimicrobials (PCAMs), underlying mechanisms, design multiple practical applications local infections therapy, personal protective equipment, water purification, coatings, wound dressings, food safety, antibacterial textiles, air purification.
