In
the
last
decades,
phosphate
is
considered
main
cause
of
eutrophication
and
has
received
substantial
attention
from
scientific
community.
Phosphate
a
major
pollutant
that
deteriorates
water
quality,
which
been
increasing
in
resources,
primarily
due
to
global
population
corresponding
activities.
Adsorption
technology
amongst
different
technologies
used
decrease
levels
water,
found
be
highly
effective
even
at
low
concentrations.
Carbonaceous
materials
their
composites
have
widely
for
removal
exceptional
surface
properties
high
sorption
capacity.
Considering
importance
topic,
this
study
reviews
reported
literature
field
adsorptive
over
various
carbon-based
adsorbents
such
as
activated
carbon,
charcoal,
graphene,
graphene
oxide,
graphite
carbon
nanotubes.
Moreover,
insights
into
adsorption
behaviour,
experimental
parameters,
mechanisms,
thermodynamics,
effect
coexisting
ions
possible
desorption
processes
onto
modified
unmodified
carbonaceous
are
also
considered.
Finally,
research
challenges
gaps
highlighted.

This
paper
presents
a
bibliometric
analysis
of
peer-reviewed
scientific
literature
on
emerging
contaminants
published
from
2000
through
2019.
A
total
4968
documents
(among
research
articles
and
review
papers)
collected
Scopus
database
were
analyzed
using
the
VOSviewer
1.6.11
software.
According
to
our
results,
this
topic
has
been
capturing
researchers'
attention
over
years
latter
five
timespan
corresponds
period
highest
productivity
subject,
when
70.4%
all
published.
United
States,
China,
Spain,
Italy
Canada
top–5
most
productive
countries
in
terms
number
works,
while
Science
Total
Environment,
Chemosphere,
Environmental
Pollution
Research,
Water
Research
stood
out
as
journals
with
publications,
gathering
31%
papers
34%
citations.
