Presence of toxic dyes in industrial wastewaters deteriorates the environment. Wastewater pollution control using locally obtainable agricultural by-products could be an eco-friendly and sustainable strategy. Efficiencies activated carbons (AC) developed from empty fruit bunches (EFB) mesocarp fibers (MF) oil palm were evaluated methylene blue (MB) Acid orange 10 (AO10) removal. Impacts operational parameters including adsorbent dose, pH, initial concentration dyes, contact time examined on adsorption. Maximum adsorption values MB (24.00 mg/g) AO10 (18.76 achieved at pH 2 3, respectively, 50 mg/L concentration, adsorbents dosage 5 g/L, 90 min time. Evaluation isotherms revealed that Freundlich model provided best fit to empirical data (R2 ≥ 0.692). isotherm through MF, however, was better represented by Langmuir = 0.979). MF carbon showed higher capacity immobilization both probably due its larger surface area (552.72 m2/g) porosity (0.4458 cm3/g). Dye go along with pseudo-second order kinetic model.

Abstract This review assesses the leachate quality from waste disposal sites in tropical climate zone. Through this review, data 228 samples 145 18 countries region were analyzed. The 12 types of considered for analysis based on climatic conditions, age, and operating condition site. Tropical rainforest, monsoon, savanna climates identified zone classification. Age site was classified as young old. conditions engineered landfill open dump Eighteen parameters included analysis. Leachate pollution index indicated that rainforest monsoon have higher potential, while potential did not demonstrate considerable difference terms age landfill. Considering method sites, dumpsites pose potential. Positive correlation could be seen among biological oxygen demand, chemical total dissolved solids, Kjeldahl nitrogen. pH negatively correlated with organic pollutants well heavy metals. Analysis emerging contaminants present is limited region; thus, it recommended to conduct studies contaminants. Further, treatment options are discussed review.

Over-dependence on virgin resources has been a major topic of social and political debates as the world's population urbanization continue to rise. The high rate rural–urban migration changes in standard living habits give rise rapid economic activities that have an enormous impact gradual increase waste generation continued demand for electricity urban centres. solutions these concerns can be achieved through efficient management options by resource utilization energy nutrient recovery reduced solid pollution footprint. This research examined viability present projected municipal streams generate green field surveys physical characterization composition, quantity based available data period 2000 – 2014, modelled methane gas generated IPCC method, value was determined respectively. findings indicated organic content 54.1% MSW per capita 0.49–0.57 kg/capita/day. from 353717.41 2,223497 tonnes between 2014 2035 at growth 9.15%. accounted estimated 9.85Gg/year with 15 MW/day 33.4 2035. represented 6.14% 212.74% allocated power supply national grid within period. However, it is worth noting that, there are some limitations associated due part inadequate which supplemented default model values recommended IPCC, although acceptable uncertainty band result sensitivity. Therefore, WTE option serve pathway integration sustainable development.
