Orthosiphon aristatus (O. aristatus), Andrographis paniculata (A. paniculata), and Gynura segetum (G. segetum) leaves were subjected as raw material to obtain phytochemical compounds using sub-critical water extraction (SWE) technique. In a semi-batch process, the was performed for ∼150 min time at 120 – 160°C 3 10 MPa. The demand for sustainable and eco-friendly extraction methods bioactive compounds from natural sources has increased significantly in recent years. In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of microwave pretreated ultrasound-assisted (MPUAE) process antioxidants (TPC, DPPH, FRAP) papaya pulp peel. optimized variables MPUAE were determined using Box-Behnken design tool response surface methodology. Our results showed that peel 675.76 669.70 W power, 150 s irradiation time, 30 °C ultrasound temperature, 19.70 16.46 min ultrasonic respectively. Pressurized hot water extraction (PHWE) is a sustainable technique that represents an alternative to conventional methods using organic solvents. It enables the recovery of bioactive compounds, such as phenolic proteins, and polysaccharides, among others, from different natural sources. Hence, primary objective this review offer brief overview on PHWE fundamentals, providing up-to-date account its applications in compounds 2019 present. Concerning the high impact of climatic change in environment, scientific community has focused on a circular economy perspective and revalorization waste generated by food industry for bioactive uses. These applications are possible due to presence compounds these wastes. In this sense, phenolic highlight their positive health implications, as they possess potent activity prevent diseases such cancer, inflammation obesity, among others. For purpose, optimized extraction target from by-products with novel green chemistry approach, using environmentally clean friendly techniques, commonly known extractions, well those permitted foods safe (GRAS solvents) is applied. Following research line, systematic review was conducted different databases (Web Science, PubMed Scopus) following PRISMA guidelines assess optimization GRAS solvent techniques by-products, best conditions, experimental design applied obtained maximum amounts interest, considering published date. An increasing understanding of the negative environmental effects waste discharges has made valorization distillery by-products to recover added-value compounds a sound option for stillage management. In this study, recovery bioactive compounds, i.e. polyphenols, from was performed by microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), ultrasound-assisted (UAE) and conventional solid-liquid (CSLE) investigate time, concentration ethyl acetate (EA) in solvent mixture with ethanol water, solid-to-solvent ratio on yield antioxidant activity extracts. The highest yields total polyphenol content (TPC) (3.73 mg gallic acid equivalent/g) phenolic (2.51 μg/g) were obtained 8-min MAE 70% EA. provided 1.2- 1.4-times higher acids 1.6-times than UAE CSLE, respectively. Due approximately 3-times rate extraction, between energy consumption better UAE. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed that extracts positively correlated TPC content. Six identified present mainly their free forms (up 95% total), predominance ferulic 0.80 p-coumaric 0.72 acids.
