Limiting toxic elements from being exposed to the world's atmosphere has been biggest challenge among environmental researchers and stakeholders. Climate change conferences have counselling global economies take serious steps toward profound decarbonization keep universal temperature below 1.5 °C. Therefore, we extend extant literature by exploring dynamic effects atomic ICT carbon emissions (CO2) for top countries using data 1990 2017. To obtain robust findings, deploy novel non-parametric econometric approach (i.e., method moments quantile regression). The results suggest that is sustainable alternative historical fuel as curbs CO2 in lower, middle, upper quantiles. This paper introduces a novel measure of the energy transition, i.e., green quality mix (GREENQ) across Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. Abstract This study examines the multifaceted impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on environmental sustainability, specifically targeting ecological footprints, carbon emissions, and energy transitions. Utilizing panel data from 67 countries, we employ System Generalized Method Moments (SYS-GMM) Dynamic Panel Threshold Models (DPTM) to analyze complex interactions between AI development key metrics. The estimated coefficients benchmark model show that significantly reduces footprints emissions while promoting transitions, with most substantial observed in followed by footprint reduction reduction. Nonlinear analysis indicates several insights: (i) a higher proportion industrial sector diminishes inhibitory effect but enhances its positive transitions; (ii) increased trade openness amplifies AI’s ability reduce promote (iii) benefits are more pronounced at levels development, enhancing (iv) as transition process deepens, effectiveness reducing increases, role further transitions decreases. enriches existing literature providing nuanced understanding offers robust scientific foundation for global policymakers develop sustainable management frameworks.

Global warming and climate change are caused by anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from rising energy consumption due to population economic growth. Over the past decade, information communication technology (ICT) usage has increased which may increase utilization GHG emissions. Conversely, ICT's clean technologies can minimize pollution. Therefore, this study investigated dynamic influences of ICT, growth, population, use on in Malaysia employing autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) approach using data 1990 2021. The results ARDL bounds test indicated existence a long-run link between variables. revealed that 1% number Internet users could 0.013% short run but cut 0.077% long run. Additionally, have positive association with robustness outcomes been checked Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS), Dynamic (DOLS), Canonical Cointegration Regression (CCR) methods.
