Herein, the removal of Congo red (CR) dye from aqueous solution using MgO nanoparticles (MgO-NPs) was reported.Batch experiments were used to fulfil objectives this study.Specifically, one-factor-at-a-time (OFAAT) mode where effect contact time, MgO-NPs dosage, and initial CR concentration appraised.Results underpinned by advanced state-ofthe-art analytical techniques.Optimum conditions observed be 30 mins mixing, 1 g 120 mg/L concentration.X-ray fluorescence confirmed that there is no change in elemental constituents raw reacted materials except for reduction alkaline generating fraction, is, MgO, embedded on nanomaterial.Furthermore, X-ray diffraction formation new phases after interaction hence confirming dissolution deposition.Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy denoted presence 879 cm -1 band which assigned asymmetric symmetric stretching vibrations sulfonate (-SO 3 -) group CR.Microstructurally, comprised uniform flower-like microstructures with mono-dispersed surface-wide microspheres twisted nanosheets indicating deposition fractions MgO-NPs.Findings study will go a long way curtailing ecological impacts posed CR-dye different receiving environments.Future research should look into upscaling technology industries.
