In the context of globalization, role digital economy in carbon emissions may generate spatial spill over effects. This study comprehensively applies a model to understand nexus between and 67 economies from 2010 2019. Specifically, this contributes by introducing panel threshold model, which helps present new evidence regarding decarbonization process. Empirical findings exemplify that remarkably reduces local emissions, with positive effects being salient. The moderating effect uncover globalization positively affects emissions. Interestingly, designates economy's reduction on will be tightened, whereas turn negative only when surpasses threshold. Our has potential explain some results traditional models cannot reach.

Abstract Global climate change is becoming an increasingly serious issue. China, the largest carbon emitter, has a long way towards its sustainable development goals (SDGs) and take on reduction responsibility, especially in industrial sector. In this vein, intelligence, key driver “Industry 4.0 era”, offers opportunity campaign. This paper seeks to examine influences of intelligence emissions, their heterogeneous characteristics transmission mechanisms, moderating role human capital. Therefore, we properly probed theoretical aspects, then used China's provincial data from 2006 2019 number tests, namely fixed effect model, two‐stage test, test relevant assumptions. We first unfolded that can significantly mitigate emissions. Specifically, analysis found efforts are more pronounced central western regions resource‐based regions. further highlight mechanism identification, which reveals structure upgrading technological innovation main channels for abate CO 2 Importantly, pinpoint capital, positively moderates relationship between emissions well amplify intelligence. These results conducive accurately assessing environmental benefits providing policy enlightenment China alleviate they will also offer reference other developing countries learn from.

This study is significant because it fills the gap in future literature by looking at panel of 5 Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) economies regarding important role financial development (FD) environmental deterioration under holistic measures FD quality, something that has been largely overlooked preceding studies. Consequently, this explores effects FD, employing a composite quality proxy (CEQP) (CFDP). In pursuit objective, continuously updated fully modified (Cup-FM) bias corrected (Cup-BC) procedures are applied. These enabled us to comprehensively explore dynamic interactions between combined index for CEQP controlling agricultural activities, economic growth, renewable energy consumption, nonrenewable consumption (NREC) 5-BRICS from 2005 2019. The empirical results show CFDP appeases thus improves quality. activities intensify deterioration. analysis also reveals U-shaped relationship growth (inverted U-type Kuznets curve hypothesis) BRICS nations. Additionally, whereas NREC decreases it. As supported study, policymakers should encourage sector support green initiatives achieve stability.

The long-term development goals of most countries face significant challenges in reducing emissions, improving environmental sustainability, and mitigating the negative effects climate change. This study looks at how ecological sustainability BRICS is affected by economic growth, financial development, new technologies, renewable energy consumption with mediating effect trade openness. covers years 2004–2023, it was based on fixed-effect models that use static panel data. Data were collected from World Development Indicators website. time frame for this selected basis data availability. These findings show sources, technological innovation, all have a positive impact sustainability. Nevertheless, significantly negatively impacted growth. Furthermore, openness functions as mediator between them. Based empirical evidence, paper suggests nations seek sustainable development. Moreover, government agencies need to accurately evaluate connection emission reduction when formulating programs cut emissions.
