Adsorption technology is considered one of the most effective methods for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs). However, it difficult to select optimal activated carbon(AC) different VOCs industries due its various categories. To develop a comprehensive assessment system commercial AC in typical gasoline vapor removal, 12 ACs (coal, shell, and wood carbon) were selected. Their physical properties, chemical characteristics target pollutant adsorption capacity studied. A evaluation was established based on improved Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The weighted AHP method determined by correlation between each property indicator. i-pentane influenced specific surface area (SSA) alkaline functional groups AC, with former showing significant positive (correlation coefficient=0.853, P<0.05) latter negative coefficient=-0.845, P<0.05). Based average scores, wooden carbon performed best, followed coal shell carbon. Owing highest SSA (1851 m2/g) acidic (1.354 mmol/g) carbon, performance (553.5 mg/g) best. we proposed can be used rank aspects, which employed selection recommendation high-quality industries.
