Abstract Rolling oil sludge (ROS) is a type of solid waste produced during steel rolling; this contains not only high iron content but also many harmful organic components and very attractive secondary resource. This paper introduces the sources hazards ROS, summarizes recycling methods integrated with production, classifies traditional treatment technologies, analyzes their advantages disadvantages.
