The

enterprises
in

heavy
pollution
industry
2007
to
2019;

paper
constructs
a
two-way
fixed
effects
panel
model
mediated
effect
test
relevant
of
local
government
environmental
target
constraints
(LGETCs)
on
performance
(HPEs).

findings
are
follows:
First,
LGETCs
significantly
inhibit
short-term
HPEs.
Second,

heterogeneous
impact
HPEs
based
regional,
industry,
firm
ownership
differences.

Improving
the

air
pollution
has

an
increasingly
serious
threat
to
public
health.
Strengthening

have

methods

review

research
trends

comprehensive

2023.
By

establishes

for
