Ecological restoration, as a component of sustainable development, can mitigate ecosystem degradation and improve ecological diversity. Accurate identification restoration priority areas (ERPAs) is essential for developing practice. However, few studies have considered both reference conditions vulnerability during restoration. In this study, comprehensive framework ERPA was developed by integrating vulnerability. Using the Jialing River Basin (JRB), representative basin Yangtze River, case our results revealed that under average climate conditions, with high values were mostly in eastern southeastern mountainous JRB, whereas potential concentrated central northern southern basin. Additionally, regions found urban scattered along major tributaries. Overall, identified ERPAs predominantly areas, some basin, accounting 9.61% JRB. Consequently, JRB be divided into four targeted management strategies to address implement activities. Moreover, we suggest proposed identifying used clarifying objectives, assessing baseline, offering scientific large-scale efforts.

This study selected 61 parks in Guizhou province as research points and collected 3282 facial expression photos of park visitors 2021 on the Sina Weibo platform. FireFACE v1.0 software was used to analyze expressions evaluate their emotional perception landscape structure ecosystem service value (ESV) different types blue–green spaces. Research shows that average ESV green spaces is USD 6.452 million per year, while blue 3.4816 year. The space no geographical gradient changes, happiness score negatively correlated with latitude. Compared spaces, can better awaken positive emotions among visitors. performance follows: TheroponcedrymV > GrasslandV Shrubland V. be perceived by visitors, GreenV vegetation height are considered main driving factors for awakening In Guizhou, when area decreases, people more likely experience sadness. Regressions indicated increasing strengthening hydrological regulation function space, achieve a peaceful mood. Overall, perceive sentiments high Karst but low shrubland.

Ecological management zoning is crucial for maintaining regional ecological security and realizing differentiated urban governance. However, the existing methods are overly focused on functional attributes fail to adequately consider impacts of human activities, resulting in an insufficiently rational allocation resources. Taking Guizhou Province as example, using multi-source data spatial analysis tools, this study proposed framework based coupling blue-green infrastructure (BGI) network gray (GI) network. The results indicated that (1) BGI area included 179 sources, with a total 54,228.80 km2, 232 corridors. (2) There were 53 sources GI network, totaling 709.19 corridors first, second, third levels 11,469.31 km, 6703.54 5341.30 respectively. (3) 606 barrier points identified, mainly distributed central part area, disturbance zone was 1132.50 which had largest distribution Qiandongnan, followed by Qiannan. (4) At county scale, five zones identified four indicators, namely, source ratio corridor density ratio, point. Then, we targeted optimizations restorations each zone. This organically linked anthropogenic identify zones, will provide new perspectives synergies between protection economic development.

ABSTRACT Ecosystem management initiatives remain far from achieving sustainable development targets, with degraded ecosystems significantly limiting the protection efficiency. This study proposes a multi‐objective framework for ecological restoration that complements existing protected areas and identifies priority to enhance effectiveness sustainability within resource constraints. Focusing on representative ecologically fragile county Loess Plateau, this assessed ecosystem services (ESs) applied Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) model delineate targeted areas. Following this, objectives were established based regional conservation requirements, accompanied by of corresponding scenarios. These scenarios aimed maximize efficiency, improve importance landscape connectivity, while minimizing human activities impacts. Lastly, security patterns constructed identify sources, corridors, barriers, as well prioritize into four levels. Key findings revealed three offered highest trade‐off respectively, selected under hypothetical objectives. Regions characterized higher ESs lower activity, encompassing one‐third total area, exhibited costs. Restoration priorities covered 15.25%–26.83% 8–19 barriers identified in agricultural construction zones, emphasizing imperative land‐use conversion forests or grasslands. provide actionable strategies harmonizing socio‐economic imperatives, highlighting tiered interventions effectiveness.

Since the Anthropocene, global natural ecosystems have suffered more severe and accelerating harm than at any other period in history. The growing conflict between urban expansion ecological conservation highlights importance of finding a balance. Ecological security pattern (ESP) focuses on minimizing cost-benefit ratio while maintaining minimum level land use demand. It is an effective spatial tool for balancing sprawl conservation, sustaining regional safeguarding human well-being, thus fostering sustainable development. However, when identifying ESP, it still unclear whether core areas specific or comprehensive ecosystem characteristics should be highlighted. In this study we established three ESP construction scenarios to explore trade-off conservations characteristics. Scenario 1 3 respectively tended prioritize respectively, 2 represented intermediate approach. Furthermore, effectiveness were assessed choose best solution under objectives health, landscape connectivity integrated . results showed that had largest number sources corridors, being 5.82 times 7.48 1, respectively. total area each scenario was 1626 km2, accounting 24% area. Besides, with 705 km2. Natural reserves Helan Mountain, Sha Lake, Baijitan identified as all scenarios, emphasizing their importance. exhibited better representativeness demonstrated highest conservation. not optimal objectives. suggested characteristic benefits.
