The spatio-temporal evolution of land use/land cover (LULC) and habitat quality (HQ) is vital to maintaining ecological balance realizing regional sustainable development. Using the InVEST CA-Markov model, with Kendall coefficient as sensitivity value, LULC HQ in Lu’an City from 2000 2030 are simulated evaluated. Then, Spearman used analyze correlation between driving factors. Finally, influence policy factors on discussed. results show following: (1) 2030, mainly cropland (about 40%) forest 30%) which transferred construction land; (2) kappa 0.9097 (>0.75), indicating that prediction valid; (3) shows DEM (0.706), SLOPE (0.600), TRI (0.681), HFI (−0.687) strongly correlated HQ, while FVC (0.356) GDP (−0.368) weakly HQ; (4) main reasons for decrease increase area, vulnerability artificial forests threat factors, their low biodiversity. Urbanization-induced land use transitions (LUTs) result in a decline ecosystem services, which has implications for regional ecological security. In order to explore the relationship between services and transition, this paper utilizes InVEST model, geographically weighted regression (GWR) examine impact of transition on Dongting Lake area (DLA). The results showed that 1) with change urbanization development, average values intensity (LUI) 2000, 2010, 2020 are 237.99, 235.82, 238.92, respectively. Land dynamics (LUD) show tendency increase then decrease, 5.58 5.62 periods 2000–2010 2010–2020, respectively, transformation shows obvious spatio-temporal heterogeneity. 2) Habitat quality carbon sequestration downward trend. contrast, food supply followed an upward trend; soil conservation (SC) water yield (WY) initially increased decreased later. overall spatial changes habitat appear be insignificant. Food significant differences plains compared other areas, while service places than DLA. 3) From 2000 2020, dynamics, population density, GDP night lighting, had mainly negative effects services. ABSTRACT Conflicts between different types of land use, driven by rapid urbanization, are altering ecosystem services supply–demand balances (ESDB), and the reduction ESDB will threaten regional sustainable development human welfare. However, there few studies on interrelationships their drivers use conflicts (LUCs) from a coupling perspective, especially in main functional areas. Therefore, this study focused Southwest China. Firstly, coordination degree model was employed to measure ESDB‐LUCs relationship analyze its dynamic changes 1990 2020. With the intensification of socioeconomic activities and climate change, land use conflicts are becoming more serious, posing major obstacles to sustainable territorial space. This study conducted research on conflict zoning control with a view contributing new ideas for prevention resolution risks. By analyzing positioning drawing upon fundamental theories, novel paradigm was proposed. An empirical in Gan River Basin Jiangxi Province by applying comprehensive evaluation method geographical detector, basin divided into six types zones according intensity hierarchy ecosystem service values. Amid the increasing demands for ecological civilization and food security, addressing conflicts between agricultural functions has become a critical priority in spatial governance. Focusing on Chang-Zhu-Tan Urban Cluster, this study establishes multi-indicator evaluation framework employs weighted model to measure functions. The ESDA characterizes distribution clustering patterns of conflicts, while RF identifies key drivers underlying mechanisms. results indicate following: (1) Agricultural exhibit “center-weak, periphery-strong” pattern, with high-function zones covering over 60% area, whereas are primarily concentrated low-function zones, areas localized northeast. Overall, agro-ecological functionality declined from 2000 2020, accompanied by increased gradient differentiation. (2) High-conflict decreased 7.73% during period, medium-conflict conflict-free expanded. Spatially, trend “peripheral mitigation high central expansion low conflicts” emerged. (3) Natural environmental factors were primary conflict dynamics, land use gained significance time. Elevation slope dominated economic density crop planting area more influential 2010. Synergistic effects observed, slope–precipitation interactions providing strongest explanatory power. This offers empirical insights into managing agricultural–ecological thereby contributing enhanced governance sustainable development practices.
