The preservation of biodiversity is crucial for maintaining ecological balance and promoting the harmonious development mankind nature. To formulate a conservation plan Guilin in China accurately evaluate impact measures on regional biodiversity, this study combined InVEST model (v 3.7.0), GeoSOS-FLUS 2.3), landscape pattern index, analyzing spatiotemporal changes from 2000 to 2020 simulating under different scenarios 2040. results showed following: (1) index displayed declining trend, with average annual value decreasing 0.875 0.870 2020. area experiencing reduction was primarily concentrated around city. (2) level each district county had large difference, overall distribution characteristics “higher northwest, southwest, east, lower northeast, southeast central”. (3) hotspots were identified as priority areas conservation; woodland wetland effectively protected, expansion construction land arable limited protection scenario compared natural scenario. (4) could reach 0.872 2040 after adoption measures, which 0.013 higher than can provide guidance national sustainable city use planning Guilin, well scientific reference creation policies.

Understanding the spatial differentiation of ecosystem service (ES) interactions and their underlying driving mechanisms is crucial for effective management enhancing regional landscape sustainability. However, comprehensive analyses effects key influencing factors on ES remains limited, especially regarding nonlinear heterogeneity. We assessed validated five in National Key Ecological Function Zones (NKEFZs) China—net primary productivity (NPP), soil conservation (SC), sandstorm prevention (SP), water retention (WR), biodiversity maintenance (BM). By integrating optimal parameter geographical detector with constraint line methods, we further explored complex responses to across different functional zones. The results showed that most exhibited significant synergistic clustering. In contrast, widespread trade-off clustering was detected pairs related WR, mainly distributed Tibetan Plateau, northeast China, Southern Hills region. Due improvement ES, overall synergies enhanced from 2000 2020. dominant zones influenced a non-stationary manner, same potentially showing diverse effect types sub-regions. Additionally, role configuration sub-regions specific interaction (e.g., WR-NPP SP zones), suggesting potential achieving multi-ES through planning without altering composition. This research provides valuable insights into understanding offers scientific foundation implementation ecological protection restoration plans.

The Grain for Green Program (GFGP) plays a critical role in enhancing watershed vegetation cover. Analyzing changes cover provides significant practical value guiding ecological conservation and restoration vulnerable regions. This study utilizes MOD13Q1 NDVI data to construct the Kernel Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (kNDVI) analyzes spatiotemporal evolution future trends of from 2000 2020, covering key periods GFGP. innovatively combines optimal parameter geographic detector with constraint lines comprehensively reveal nonlinear constraints, intensities, thresholds imposed by various driving factors on kNDVI. results indicate that following: (1) Luo River Basin increased significantly between noticeable increase percentage high-quality vegetation. Spatially, followed pattern being “high southwest low northeast”, 73.69% region displaying improved conditions. Future degradation is predicted threaten 59.40% region, showing continuous or declining trend. (2) primary are evapotranspiration, elevation, population density, geomorphology type, temperatures GDP secondary factors. Dual-factor enhancement was observed interactions among factors, evapotranspiration density having largest interaction (q = 0.76). (3) effects exhibited patterns, existing hump-shaped concave-waved types. stability kNDVI 40.23% areas showed moderate high fluctuations, most fluctuations low-altitude high-temperature areas, as well those impacted dense human activities. (4) By overlaying classifications GFGP priority reforestation totaling 68.27 km2 were identified. findings can help decisionmakers optimize next phase effective regional management.
