Abstract:
China
faces
issues
such
as
air
pollution
and
global
climate
change,
the
Carbon
Emission
Trading
Policy
(CETP)
has
attracted
considerable
attention
a
core
policy
tool
for
achieving
"dual
carbon"
goals.
Based
on
panel
data
from
Pearl
River–West
River
Economic
Belt
(PRWREB)
2008
to
2021,
we
use
Synthetic
Control
Method
(SCM)
Spatial
Difference-in-Differences
(S-DID)
models
explore
reduction
carbon
effects
of
CETP
its
spatial
heterogeneity.
Our
analysis
reveals
several
interesting
insights.
First,
promoted
34.1%
overall
in
levels
pilot
areas,
with
sustained
effects.
Moreover,
spillover
can
reduce
economic
belt
by
29.9%.
Second,
are
more
significant
regions
better
development
active
trading.
It
best
synergistic
CO2
SO2
but
is
less
effective
reducing
PM2.5.
Third,
technological
innovation
greater
than
direct
effects,
most
noticeable
outcomes.
The
negative
effect
industrial
structure
that
it
fails
promote
reduction.

China
is
facing
development
challenges,

shortage,

tightening
ecological
environmental
constraints.
In
this
context,
improving
land
green
utilization
efficiency
(LGUE)
not
only
an
important
undertaking
to
optimize
spatial
layout
country
improve
carrying
capacity
but
also
inevitable
choice
for
comprehensive
transformation
economic
social
development.
China’s
energy-consuming
right
trading
(ECRT)
energy
transition
demonstration
policy;
however,
its
effect
on
LGUE
has
yet
be
scientifically
evaluated
in
academic
research.
Using
panel
data
260
prefecture-level
cities
from
2009
2021,
study
first
uses
a
difference-in-difference
model
test
ECRT
LGUE,
analyze
transmission
mechanism,
further
examine
impact
urban
characteristic
heterogeneity
policy
effects
multiple
perspectives.
Results
show
following:

The
manner
