Abstract
The
addition
of
biochar
(BC)
during
composting
significantly
influences
the
concentration
and
chemical
structure
dissolved
organic
matters
(DOM),
thereby
affecting
its
binding
properties
with
heavy
metals
(HMs).
This
study
examines
co-composting
chicken
manure
varying
BC
dosages,
specifically
0
wt%
(CK),
1
(T1),
2
(T2),
comparatively
analyzes
characteristics
between
compost-derived
DOM
copper
ions
(Cu(II)).
EEM-PARAFAC
analysis
identified
three
primary
components
in
DOM:
fulvic
acid-like
(C1),
humic
(C2),
protein-like
(C3)
components,
each
exhibiting
distinct
Cu(II)
properties.
complexation
constants
(logK)
for
these
increased
addition,
whereas
fraction
bound
sites
(f
values)
decreased,
indicating
that
BC-amended
compost
forms
more
stable
DOM-Cu(II)
complexes
but
fewer
available
sites.
2D-COS
synchronous
fluorescence

revealed
fulvic-like
peaks
were
sensitive
to
variations
across
all
types,
while
humic-like
substances
exhibited
a
stronger
preference
binding.

showed
broad
molecular
weight
(MW)
distributions

decrease

MW
regions
(1000-30,000

fractions

binding,
