The carbon emissions trading (CET) policy is a crucial market-based environmental regulatory for managing corporate emissions, thereby assisting China in achieving its peak and neutrality goals. This study examines whether such can boost performance. Based on China’s CET pilot as quasi-natural experiment, this paper employs the difference-in-differences method difference-in-difference-in-differences to analyze data of listed companies regions from 2010 2020. In the context of China's rapid economic development, corporate pollutant emissions are increasing, underscoring imperative for further enhancement environmental performance. Given significance high-tech enterprises in domain, this study examines impact investor attention on performance Chinese enterprises. This utilized data from 463 mainland China 2011 to 2022 and employed dynamic panel generalized method moments (GMM) technique. The findings indicate that has a negative research also finds both media coverage sentiment mitigate relationship between firms.
