The development of new-type urbanization (NTU) represents a crucial strategic approach to fostering new drivers economic growth. Despite its importance, limited research has explored the effects and underlying mechanisms through which NTU influences quality productive forces (NQPFs), key indicators emerging dynamism. Addressing this gap, present study analyzes panel data from 283 Chinese cities spanning 2009 2022, applying difference-in-differences (DID) model empirically evaluate impact New-Type Urbanization Pilot Policy (NTUPP) on NQPFs. findings reveal that NTUPP significant positive effect NQPFs, conclusion is supported by series robustness endogeneity checks. Specifically, NTUPP’s implementation corresponds an average increase 1.1% in policy facilitates NQPF growth primarily such as talent agglomeration optimal resource allocation. Notably, particularly effective boosting NQPFs at lower initial levels. New quality productive forces serve as a catalyst for high-quality development and act critical driver of Chinese-style modernization. Green finance is of vital significance for global rural sustainable development. The synergistic convergence of digital and green finance (DGF) serves as a critical role for advancing ecological modernization in urban systems carbon reduction performance (PCRP). Our research investigated whether the carbon emissions trading pilot policy (CET), while mitigating environmental pollution externalities and fostering green economic social transformation, can also enhance China’s new quality productivity (NQP) as a key driver of growth. This study addresses gap by examining CET from an integrated perspective development protection. Green technological innovation, as a critical emerging resource element, is instrumental in advancing sustainable and high-quality development of the construction sector. However, despite extensive research, synergistic mechanism linking regional green technology innovation (RGTI) carbon reduction industry (CRCI) remains theoretically underexplored, especially through lens new quality productivity (NQP). Based on dynamic panel data from 30 Chinese provinces spanning 2013–2021, this study employed multiple analytical approaches, including econometric models, coupling coordination kernel density estimation, Dagum Gini coefficient decomposition, to systematically examine their interactive relationships spatiotemporal evolution characteristics. The findings reveal that RGTI directly reduces emissions intensity yields “dual-driving effect” mediating role NQP. Significant effects were identified among RGTI, NQP, CRCI. Further investigation showed manifests distinct “regional lock-in effects” “polarization effects”, with eastern regions achieving positive interactions, while central western remain constrained by developmental limitations. Although overall disparities narrowed during period, inter-regional differences persisted dominant factor. This extends research perspective reduction, contributing formation emission coordination.

ABSTRACT This study contributes to the literature on sustainable development by investigating mechanisms through which green finance fosters sustainability in emerging economies. Given increasing importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and renewable energy environmental transitions, we explore their roles as mediators relationship between sustainability. Using a dataset covering 2015–2022, apply Baron Kenny's (1986) mediation approach combined with advanced econometric techniques assess finance's direct indirect effects development. Our findings reveal that directly enhances while significantly promoting AI capacity. However, once these are included, effect weakens, indicating partial effect. Moreover, identifies additional mediating role linking capacity amplifying its overall impact.
