The present study aimed at identifying the transformations that occurred since 1600s in a low-lying territory located east of Venice Lagoon. environmental modifications were examined GIS environment through interpretation multidisciplinary data. analysis historical maps realized from 1641 to 1943, as well aerial photographs and satellite images taken last few decades, was fundamental reconstruct evolution area mainly relation anthropogenic processes. Over past centuries, various attempts land reclamation partially or totally failed.
